Liverpool and Manchester United are two of those in the hunt for Brazilian star Lucas Rodrigues, according to The Daily Mirror.

The 19-year-old has created a stir through out Europe since his international debut against Scotland earlier this year.

Many had been attracted to Lucas previous to his full international debut, as he starred in the Under-21 South America Championship.

Representatives from Liverpool were present at Hampden Park to watch the Sao Paulo man, while United are also said to be keeping tabs on him.

The Brazilian side are consigned to loosing their prized asset, with a deal expected to be completed next summer, with both Real Madrid and AC Milan also keeping their options open.

However, Liverpool's director of football Damien Comolli may be willing to make a move for Lucas in January, to warn off interest from United.

Liverpool will be keen to make an early move for Lucas given how they lost out to United in the race for both Phil Jones and Ashley Young in the summer.
