Bergkamp signs for Rochdale

Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp’s nephew, Roland, has signed for Rochdale on loan until 2 January.

Bergkamp has left parent club Brighton & Hove Albion to get some first team football, in the hope that he can keep his place in the Netherlands Under-21 squad.

He joined Brighton from Dutch club Excelsior this summer, signing a two year deal in the hope that he could emulate his uncle’s time at Arsenal by succeeding in England.

The tall forward has found playing time hard to come by at the Falmer Stadium, but was impressive last season in Holland when scoring five goals for Excelsior.
