Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs says the side still have much to improve on despite beating Swansea City.

Javier Hernandez’s goal ensured United kept pace with Manchester City and continued their excellent defensive record of late, with the club yet to concede since their humiliation at the hands of their near neighbors.

But with United’s win at the Liberty Stadium without their usual ruthlessness in front of goal, Giggs says they have much to improve on.

We probably have to play better if we’re going to get more positive results.

“It’s a tough place to come, their record this season shows that. They were unbeaten until today, so we knew that it would be tough. Sometimes you get an early goal and you sit back, we shouldn’t have done that really.”

United’s Mexican match-winner Hernandez scored his third goal in his last five league games and is delighted for club are returning to winning ways.

“Of course, it was a fantastic for everyone. We are really happy with the three points,” he said.

“Like Ryan said, we know how Swansea play, they play really well with the ball so it was really difficult.”
