Former Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton has indicated he has ended his war of words with the club.
The 29-year-old QPR man ruffled a few more feathers on Tyneside this week with an outburst which prompted Magpies managing director Derek Llambias to call in the lawyers. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew on Thursday urged Barton not to take the gloss off their fine start to the season, and it appears his plea has been answered.
On Friday morning, Barton tweeted: "Pardew's a good man and manager, I agree with what he has said. Time to keep my peace."
