Dougie Freedman declared himself more than satisfied with a successful couple of days in the life of Crystal Palace.
The Eagles were on course to follow up Wednesday night's epic 2-1 victory at Manchester United in the Carling Cup with their first npower Championship win in six but an own goal from skipper Paddy McCarthy sent Derby home with a 1-1 draw.
"Football never goes your way all the time," said boss Freedman. "Paddy has played two games in two days and given his all. He's a great guy with a great attitude."
