Grant Holt has emphasised the importance of a good home record if Norwich want to stay in the Barclays Premier League.
The Canaries have won exactly half of the games they have played at Carrow Road in the Barclays Premier League this season, including Saturday’s 4-2 victory over Newcastle.
The Norwich captain wants his side to continue in the same manner throughout the season, and knows it is likely to be a decisive factor when May arrives.
“You need to win your home games. You need to be positive and get your points at home," said the striker.
"It's always tough to go away from home and nick things, but if you do that and you continue your home form then you'll be alright.
"We've accumulated a good number of points and we've got to keep doing that.”
Holt played up-front with Steve Morison at the weekend ahead of a midfield diamond, and the ex-Shrewsbury man was quick to heap praise on his strike partner.
“We know each other and he’s been around long enough now," Holt explained.
“It’s always hard to settle in and find out what other players do. He hasn’t played in the diamond before but I thought he was great again today.”
Morison and Holt now have six goals apiece, and the pair thrives on good service into the box that Holt is hoping can continue.
"We've got lads who are keen to get in the box and score goals. It doesn't matter what division you're in, if you get good balls in you'll score goals, and we did that today."
