Arsenal will reportedly contest Udinese in pursuit of Sochaux midfielder Kevin Anin.

The 25-year-old has made 12 appearances in Ligue 1 this season and has impressed with a number of composed displays in the heart of midfield.

According to talkSPORT, Arsene Wenger has been tracking the £3 million-rated Frenchman, although Arsenal will have to fight off interest from Udinese if they hope to secure Anin's signature.

Reports in France claim the Serie A outfit are making a concerted effort to bring Anin to the Stadio Friuli in January, which could hasten the Gunners into action.

Wenger, however, has claimed he has no interest in making midfield reinforcements next month, and has ruled out the proposed signing of Yoann Gourcuff.

The Lyon playmaker has been frequently linked with Arsenal in recent months, and Gunners legend Robert Pires believes the France international would be 'perfect' for Wenger.

The Arsenal boss, though, says he already has adequate cover in that position.
