Redknapp focused on Spurs - not England

Daniel Levy insists Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is 100% focused on the task at-hand at White Hart Lane amidst constant speculation about the England job.

Levy was questioned by the club's own supporters during their annual general meeting yesterday, with the former Portsmouth manager's future in north London one of the topics on the agenda for the fans at least.

The businessman was quick to put the fans at ease though, stressing that Redknapp has a year-and-a-half left on his current deal and that the Three Lions isn't currently on the agenda.

"Harry has 18 months left on his contract. We have had a conversation where it was said that, as far as Harry's concerned, he's very happy here and that he doesn't particularly want to consider England at the present time," said Levy.

"We will worry about that situation if it arises in the summer."

Speaking on the squad, Levy was also quick to dispel suggestions that players might be sold to balance the books in January.

After failing to qualify for the Champions League last season, pressure to lighten the financial load could have weighed heavy on Tottenham after announcing salary costs rose to £91 million from £67 million.

However, the 'exceptional' squad is pushing hard for a top four finish this season, and won't be broken apart anytime soon.

"We have a great squad with exceptional talent and none of the main players will be leaving in January," added Levy.

"I hope we have a great season and that we can finish in the top four or, who knows, maybe even higher. We want first place."
