Samir Nasri has been impressed by the tactical mind of Roberto Mancini since his summer move to Manchester City, and says he is still learning the intricacies of the game.
The French midfielder moved to the Etihad Stadium from Arsenal in August for a fee in the region of £20 million and has, so far, impressed in Manchester.
Nasri has weighed in with six assists and two goals in 10 Barclays Premier League appearances as City set the pace in this season's title race.
And, says the 24-year-old, his fine form is partly down to the wisdom imparted to him by Roberto Mancini at the beginning of the campaign.
“I have learned new things tactically since coming to City,” explained Nasri.
“The manager here is really into his tactics. He knows how he wants us to defend.
“Tactically the Italians are very strong. You always know where you have to be when you lose the ball. Mancini told me that I already knew how to attack because that that’s what I did already with Arsenal.
“I had six assists last year with Arsenal. I have already had the same number this year with City. I’m only 24 and I know I can improve a lot.”
