Winterburn backs Henry loan move

Former Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn believes the return of Thierry Henry to the Emirates could provide a huge lift to the club.

Manager Arsene Wenger has been weighing up a move for the club's record goalscorer, who would be a available on a short-term loan deal from his Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls, and reports have suggested a two-month offer is on the table.

Henry, who has been training with the Gunners to keep his fitness levels up, would provide cover for when Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho leave for African Nations Cup duty. Asked about the possibility of a deal, Winterburn told Sky Sports News: "I hope everything works out as everyone is expecting. It's terrific news for supporters of Arsenal."
