Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window, but not for a club in the Premier League.

Lampard was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last week, a rumour which was rubbish by Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Scot claimed that Chelsea would be mad to sell the 33-year-old, however The Blues appear decided on Lampard's future.

Andre Villas-Boas is ready to allow the England international leave Stamford Bridge, however any move to a rival of Chelsea will be denied.

Former boss Carlo Ancelott, now manager of Paris St Germain, is said to be interested in Lampard after managing him for two years during his spell at Chelsea.

Lampard has often played second fiddle in Chelsea's midfield this season, missing out from the start in the crucial matches with Valencia and Manchester City.
