Arsenal and Aston Villa are pondering over a move for Blackburn Rovers defender Scott Dann, according to skysports.com.

Following his summer move from Birmingham City, Dann has been an ever present in the Ewood Park first-team with club captain Ryan Nelson having played just once this season.

After being linked with him in the summer, reports are suggesting The Gunners will return with another bid for Dann to assist their defensive injury crisis.

With the likes of Carkl Jenkinson and Bacary Sagna out of action for the foreseeable future, defensive resources are few and far between.

Villa boss Alex McLeish, who managed Dann during his days at Birmingham City, is understood to be interested in partnering up with the centre-back.

Rovers are reportedly willing to sell Dann, but are unwilling to part with both him and Chris Samba, who has been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers.
