Liverpool have reportedly made a £15million bid for Udinese midfielder Mauricio Isla.
The Daily Star have reported that Kenny Dalglish has been impressed with the Chilean’s performances in Serie A this season.
The report also claimed that the Anfield boss wants to make changes to his squad after the lacklustre 3-1 defeat to Bolton on Saturday.
Udinese are flying high in Serie A, sitting just three points off of leaders Juventus and they would be loath to let one of their biggest assets when so close to the top of the league.
However, they are traditionally a selling team and have struggled to hold on to their best players in the past – Alexis Sanchez and Gokhan Inler two cases in point.
It could be that the reported offer of £15million from Liverpool could be too tempting a deal to turn down.
Many will be questioning whether Liverpool really need to buy a new midfielder, especially since their troubles mainly stem from failures in front of goal.
The Merseysiders have scored just 25 goals in 22 Barclays Premier League games this season – equal to second bottom Wolves.
They have so far relied on their defensive stability to make sure of positive results, but the ineptitude shown at Bolton, openly criticised by Dalglish, could be cause to worry.
