The FA have confirmed Stuart Pearce will take charge of England on a temporary basis while they search for the next England manager.

Pearce, the manager of the England Under 21 side and GB Olympic football team, will oversee the friendly against Holland on February 26.

David Bernstein confirmed the FA will draw up a shortlist for Capello's successor, with a preference for an "English or British" candidate.

Harry Redknapp, who was yesterday cleared of tax evasion, is the clear favourite - but earlier insisted he has "not even thought" about the job.
