Young and Hernandez put Reds on top

Second-half goals from Ashley Young and Javier Hernandez allowed Manchester United to take a giant stride towards the Europa League last 16 in Amsterdam following their 2-0 win over Ajax.

Although Ajax were dominant in the first half, the visitors roused themselves after the break.

And after Young had broken the deadlock just before the hour, Hernandez finished off a flowing move to make next Thursday's second leg at Old Trafford a formality.
