Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could be given as much as £100million to spend in the summer by Gunners owner Stan Kroenke.

The Emirates Stadium club are experiencing hard times and it is turning into Wenger’s worst season of his 16 year reign at Arsenal.

With the club seriously flirting with a failure to qualify for next year’s Champions League and in need of a squad overhaul, American owner Kroenke is set to make between '£50million and £100million' available, according to a report in The Telegraph.

The report claims that concerns over whether Kroenke could afford to inject such a large sum into the club when he is reportedly interested in buying the MLB side LA Dodgers have been dismissed.

As The Telegraph points out, it would be a surprising move from ‘Silent Stan’ as he was preaching the pros of an opposite strategy when he took over the club just ten months ago.

Arsenal face a crucial few weeks in the Premier League, with a visit from local rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and a trip to Anfield to face fellow fourth place chasers Liverpool a week later.

Those games are followed by the second leg of their doomed Champions League last 16 tie against AC Milan, where they will have to attempt to overturn a four goal deficit.
