John Terry believes Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas and the players will stop the rot during a three-week period which will "define" their season.

Blues captain Terry also revealed his disappointment at being ruled out for another six weeks after being forced to undergo surgery on the knee injury that had already sidelined him for three.

Terry told Chelsea's official matchday programme: "Quite simply, the next few weeks will define our season. I'd give anything to be involved at this time. During tough times, we all have to stay together as one and the players have to stand up and be counted. I have full confidence in the team and the manager to get the results we need in the coming weeks."
