Manchester United are leading the race for Torino midfielder Alen Stevanovic, according to The Daily Mail.

The 21-year-old has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo following some superb showings in Serie 'B'.

He spent last season on loan at Toronto, but had netted three times in 24 starts since his return.

Stevanovic is rated at £6 million, but United may face competition from the remainder of the Premier League's elite, who have all scouted the star.

Despite his Swiss birth, Stevanovic is expecting a Serbian international call-up in the near future, given his current league form.

During his days at Inter Milan, Arsenal scouts were said to have watched him on a number of occasions. He made just one appearance for the Serie 'A' giants during his two year stay at the club though, following his move from Radnicki Obrenovac.

His one and only appearance occurred against Siena under the management of Jose Mourinho, who guided the club to the European Cup that same season.
