Redknapp at 65: Top 10 signings

Harry Redknapp's reputation during his close to 30 years in management has been built around his dealings in the transfer window.

Like him of loath him, Redknapp is one of the finest exponents of the transfer market, constantly making a lot out from very little.

To mark his 65th birthday, GMF had decided to take a look at his best recruits in the market.
 

Henri Camera

The effervescent Sengal striker made the short-term switch to the Saints in January 2005, and despite being unable to prevent relegation, produced a string of sterling performances which included a memorable goal against Everton.
 

Peter Crouch

Signed the England forward three times during his managerial career, and was never let down by the 6 ft 7 in forward who had spells at Southampton, Portsmouth and Tottenham Hotspur.
 

Trevor Sinclair

Sinclair assisted in helping the club finish eighth in the Premier League, in his first season at the club, while his memorable pass to find Paolo Di Canio will be the everlasting memory of the England winger.

Has flourished in the centre of Spurs' midfield this season, as Redknapp's side have mounted a title challenge. A snip for £5.5 million last summer from Harry's former side West Ham.
 

Glen Johnson

Part of Redknapp's FA Cup winning side of 2008, Johnson had an appetite for spectacular goals during his time at Fratton Park and was sold for over four times what Pompey paid for him two years after joining.
 

Pedro Mendes

Famous for the goal that never was at Old Trafford, Mendes struck a spate of important goals for Portsmouth as they stayed up in the Premier League, a double against Manchester City the most memorable of them all.
 

Jermain Defoe

Redknapp has signed Defoe on three occasions, most crucially from Charlton while at West Ham as a youngster, before bringing him in at Portsmouth and Spurs. A regular source of goals.
 

Niko Kranjcar

The artistry of Kranjcar alone makes him one of Redknapp best ever signings. He stared for the Pompey team that claimed the cup in 2008, while an albeit limited role at Tottenham doesn't appear like letting up.

As controversial a player as we've seen in the Premier League, but the scorer of one of the divisions best ever goals. Also scored famously against Manchester United in the FA Cup in the twilight of a glittering career.
