Manchester United are plotting a move for Brazilian forward Leandro Damiao, according to Metro.

The 22-year-old has been on the radar of both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the pair's failure to complete a deal for Damiao, could lead to United grabbing the initiative.

"My career plan right now is to stay at Internacional," he recently told TVCOM ESportes.

"If I do leave, then I hope it will be for a big club like my current club Internacional - a club which is always fighting for titles."

United are understood to be preparing a deal worth £25 million for Damiao, who netted a hat trick against The Strongest in the Copa Libertadores last week.

Tottenham were said to have made a bid for Damiao already this year, with the summer likely to bring an end to his stay with Internacional.

Damiao has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, whose lack of goals this season has undermined their fight for the top four, and Champions League qualification.

Formerly of Athletico Ibirama, Damiao has five Brazil caps to his name, scoring his maiden international goal at Craven Cottage against Ghana last September.
