Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has stressed the decision to part ways with former manager Lee Bradbury was "what's best for the football club".

Bradbury left Dean Court on Sunday following 14 months in charge with the Cherries lying 13th in npower League One. Paul Groves and Shaun Brooks will lead the team in the immediate future, and Mitchell remained coy about how Bournemouth will go about appointing a new full-time boss.

"It's what's best for the football club," he told BBC Radio Solent. "Both Lee and I spent considerable time on Sunday morning talking and we couldn't conclude together."
