Juventus are considering a summer bid for Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles, it has been claimed.

The Portugal international only moved to Stamford Bridge last summer, having handed in a transfer request on deadline day in order to engineer a move way from Liverpool.

Meireles has since established himself as a regular in the Chelsea midfield, but his stay in west London could be short-lived if Juventus decide to formalise their interest in his signature.

According to Portuguese newspaper Record, Juve have have identified the 29-year-old as a key summer target as Antonio Conte makes early plans for the transfer window.

At this stage, it would appear Chelsea are unlikely to sell a player they acquired for £9 million less than a year ago, but this may change when a new manager is appointed.

The search for Andre Villas-Boas' successor is still on, and interim boss Roberto di Matteo will have done no harm to his claim for the full-time role after Chelsea beat Benfica on Tuesday evening.
