Bolton boss Owen Coyle felt his team's performance in the 3-2 victory at Wolves on Saturday typified the spirit they have shown in recent weeks.

Their battling qualities were evident as they kept Wolves' attacks at bay for 53 minutes and then responded to Michael Kightly's opener for the hosts with Martin Petrov's penalty (63) and further goals from Marcos Alonso (80) and substitute Kevin Davies (84), rendering Matt Jarvis' late strike a consolation.

Reflecting on the display, a delighted Coyle said: "We had to stand up and be brave and resolute in our defending, in the first half in particular. Wolves came out with all guns blazing as we expected. For our part, we did allow too many crosses into the box, but when they came in we had to get blocks in and Adam Bogdan made a couple of great saves."
