Paul Pogba is keeping Manchester United sweating over whether he will sign a new contract to remain at Old Trafford past the end of his current deal.

The midfielder will become a free agent in the summer and The Times are reporting that he will not make a decision on his Red Devils future until next month.

Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly sees Pogba as an integral part of United’s long-term plans and the player’s reluctance to extend his Old Trafford stay is proving to be a cause of consternation.

The report claims the problem stems from the a lucrative four-year deal on offer from Serie A leaders Juventus and the United player’s agent having close connections with them.

Mino Raiola reportedly stands to make €2million if a deal to the Bianconeri is completed, though a deal has yet to materialise and Pogba is not expected to announce his intentions for another month.

Juventus would have no problems paying this commission as the compensation under UEFA guidelines they would have to pay United would be in the region of £250,000 to £300,000 – a minimal amount for such a highly rated youngster.
