Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt could be offered a coaching role with Feyenoord to help tempt him away from Anfield this summer, according to The Daily Mail.

The 31-year-old has become a peripheral figure on Merseyside since the signings of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, and could be looking to finish his career with former side Feyenoord.

Previous reports had suggested the Eredivisie club could only offer a deal worth £1 million to Kuyt, with Liverpool also receiving interest from Fiorentina and Roma.

However, now Kuyt's former side are looking to offer the carrot of a coaching role to help finalise a deal, it could see the Dutch striker end his six-year career with Liverpool.

Kuyt has just a year to run on his current deal with Liverpool, and has often cut a frustrated figure this season, scoring just five goals in all competitions this term.

He took until January to net his first Premier League goal of the season, such was the infrequency of his opportunities at the start of the campaign.

While a birth up-front has been difficult to hold on to, the likes of Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing have made it hard for Kuyt to be a consistent choice on the right flank.
