Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt is edging closer to the exit door at Anfield, after Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen conceded his side could make an offer.

The 31-year-old has been the on the peripheral of the Reds first-team this season.

Even with a year remaining on his current contract, Kuyt is understood to among those Liverpool players who could be offloaded come the end of the season, with Arnesen keen on the striker.

"Kuyt is still very fit and strong and still has a lot to offer," he said.

"He is a big-hearted player with a great spirit, and there is no doubt he can give a great deal to whichever club he plays for. He is an excellent team player, very impressive all round, so we will see what happens."

The additions of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll have dramatically decreased Kuyt's opportunities at Liverpool this season, while Jordan Henderson has often been preferred on the right-side of midfield.

Infrequent opportunities have impacted on Kuyt's form when he's been called upon, having scored just five goals this season.

It's understood that Liverpool could be propositioned by Fiorentina, Galatasaray and Feyenoord, the latter of which has been linked with bringing the forward in as a coach.

Kuyt's agent, Rob Jansen, is reportedly negotiating a deal for the 31-year-old, who signed for Liverpool in 2006.

He won his first trophy at Anfield in February's Carling Cup final, and despite missing out on the semi-final win over Everton, is hoping to add to his medal haul in next month's FA Cup final.
