Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is hoping to land highly-rated Lucas Biglia before the midfielder moves to the Premier League.
The Argentine international has impressed for Anderlecht in the Belgian Pro League, and is believed to want to test himself in a more established European division.
The 26-year-old is held in high regard by a number of top European clubs, including Juventus, PSG and Real Madrid, and has impressed scouts from both Anfield and the Emirates Stadium, according to talkSPORT.
However, Mourinho is reportedly considering tabling the first bid, which could scupper hopes of a switch to the English top flight. Biglia moved to Belgium's most successful club side in 2006, winning the Young Player of the Year award in his first full season at the club.
Since then he has gone on to win two Pro League titles and a Belgian Cup with Anderlecht. He is now thought to be exploring a move abroad, with the capital and Merseyside considered possible destinations.
However, Real Madrid's interest could now entice the Argentine to join fellow international teammates Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria at the Bernabeu.
