Arsenal forward Carlos Vela does not know if Real Sociedad will be able to afford to keep him at Anoeta Stadium on a permanent basis.

Vela joined La Real on a season-long loan from the Gunners, and has scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for the Primera Division outfit this term.

A return to the Emirates Stadium would appear to be unlikely for Vela, with Arsene Wenger already having a number of versatile forwards at his disposal.

Vela, for his part, would be interested in staying with Sociedad on a full-time basis, although whether or not the club can afford him is a different matter entirely.

The 23-year-old does, however, have other options should Sociedad fail to strike a deal with Arsenal during the summer transfer window.

"I have more options. I am not sure Real Sociedad have much budget," Vela said, according to talkSPORT.

"They asked if I had a choice to be here and I said 'yes'. I'm interested because I would not mind staying longer but what happens does not depend on me."

Vela has score seven goals in 62 games for Arsenal since joining the club in 2008, although has been restricted to mainly substitute appearances or outings in lesser competitions.
