Arsenal look set to go head to head with Tottenham in the transfer market for French strike duo Loic Remy and Olivier Giroud, according to Mercato365.fr.
The Gunners have been proactive ahead of the summer transfer window and have already snapped up Lukas Podolski from Cologne, and now reports suggest they are stepping up their activity ahead of what could be a busy summer for manager Arsene Wenger.
Wenger looks set to have a summer clear out in his striking department, with Nicklas Bendtner and Marouane Chamakh set to leave the club at the end of the season, with Wenger set to raid Ligue 1 in order to secure replacements
Now Mercat365 reports that Marseille forward Loic Remy is on the radar of the Frenchman, news that is sure to alert Tottenham, who are long-term admirers of the 25-year-old.
Spurs reportedly had an £18 million bid for the Frenchman turned down by Marsielle in January while boss Harry Redknapp has spoken publicly of his admiration for the powerful forward.
The two north London rivals could also be preparing to battle it out for Montpellier forward Olivier Giroud in the summer.
The Frenchman is Ligue 1’s top scorer this season as Montpellier go in search of landing their first ever league title.
Both Spurs and Arsenal have sent scouts to watch the striker in action according to Mercato365 and are ready to go head to head in order to land their target. The same site also reports that Giroud's team-mate Younes Belhanda remains on Arsenal's radar.
The two clubs have seemingly identified similar transfer targets this summer, with Spurs looking likely to pip the Gunners in the race to sign Jan Vertonghen.
