Roberto di Matteo has dismissed suggestions that Fernando Torres will leave Chelsea in exchange for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao this summer.
Falcao enjoyed a sensational debut season with Atleti; scoring 35 goals in all competitions, while the Madrid side claimed their second Europa League crown in only three years.
Reports have claimed that the Colombian's goalscoring exploits have led Roman Abramovich to target a summer move for his services, and would offer Torres as bait.
Torres scored 91 goals in 243 appearances for Atletico before joining Liverpool in 2007, and would surely be welcomed back to the Estadio Vincente Calderon with open arms.
Di Matteo, however, does not expect the 28-year-old Spain international to be sold during the transfer window, and has been pleased with the contribution of Torres both on and off the pitch.
"This is only speculation," Di Matteo told a press conference ahead of Chelsea's Champions League final encounter with Bayern Munich.
"I have a great relationship with Fernando, and I believe he will be here next season."
Torres has only found the net on 12 occasions since moving to Stamford Bridge from Anfield, but has enjoyed somewhat of a resurgence under Di Matteo, scoring seven times since he took the job on an interim basis in March.
