Fiorentina have reportedly offered Arsenal the opportunity to sign Adem Ljajic in exchange for much maligned striker Marouane Chamakh.

Ljajic has made only 25 starts during three seasons at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and, it would appear, manager Vincenzo Guerini is prepared to let the 20-year-old leave the club in order to further his career elsewhere.

According to talkSPORT, Viola chief scout Eduardo Macia has identified Chamakh as a key summer acquisition, and Ljajic is being used as a makeweight in the proposed deal.

Chamakh has endured a torrid time at Arsenal, having initially started his career at the Emirates Stadium in potent fashion after joining on a free transfer from Bordeaux in the summer of 2010.

The 28-year-old scored 11 goals before January in his first season with the Gunners but, since then, has managed only two more strikes in 44 games.

Chamakh is surely set to leave Arsenal during the summer transfer window, and Arsene Wenger could do worse than exchange him for talented Serbian Ljajic.
