Manchester United target Christian Eriksen has ruled out a move away from Ajax at least until 2013, according to talkSPORT.

The Danish midfielder wants to stay at the Amsterdam club until the end of next season at least, disappointing United and Liverpool who were keen to sign him up this summer.

The Red Devils were thought to be favourites to land the talented youngster, but after completing the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa, Sir Alex Ferugson may look to strengthen elsewhere. Arsenal and Tottenham were also linked with the young starlet, whose reputation has grown considerably over the last season.

But the Dane has disappointed the Premier League clubs chasing his signature, insisting he needs another year at Ajax to continue his development.

"I think it's worth spending another year at Ajax because what really interests me now is to play and grow as a player," Eriksen told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. "I do not need to risk anything and take a wrong step in my career. We'll see what can happen in summer of 2013."

The creative midfielder is currently on international duty with Denmark at Euro 2012, and played an important role as his country beat Holland 1-0 in their opening group game.

The 20-year-old is rated as one of Europe's brightest talents, and has been tracked by England's top clubs for the past season. But the Dane looks set to reject the lure of a big-money move to the Premier League, and instead focus on improving his game with the Dutch giants.
