Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is attracting the interest of both Barcelona and Real Madrid, while Manchester City are also keen on the defender, according to reports in Denmark.

New Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova has outlined the acquisition of reinforcements at centre-back as a summer priority and, it would appear, has identified Agger as a potential signing.

As reported by Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, Barcelona have yet to approach Liverpool with a formal offer but have indicated that they would be interested in bringing Agger to the Nou Camp.

However, Barca may be contested in their pursuit of the Denmark international by Real Madrid and Manchester City, although neither are thought have prioritised the signing of a new centre-back as highly as the Catalan club.

Agger has struggled with injury during his six years at Anfield, but is regarded as one of the club's most important players, and new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers would be loath to sell the 27-year-old.
