Arsene Wenger insists he is not looking to sign Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila, but admits any injury setbacks during the summer may lead him to reconsider his options.
The Gunners have been persistently linked with a move for M'Vila, but Wenger has no concrete plans to sign the 22-year-old France international as he feels he has strength in depth in midfield.
However, the situation could change depending on what happens this summer and in the recoveries of Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby from their long-term injuries.
"No [I am not interested in M'Vila]. We wait on Diaby and Wilshere," Wenger told the club's official website, www.arsenal.com. "When he is fit, Diaby is the first name on the French team sheet.
"When you look we have Alex Song, Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin, Diaby, Wilshere and Mikel Arteta. We are not short if Diaby and Wilshere are coming back. If we have setbacks in pre-season, it could be different."
Injury hampered M'Vila's impact at the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine this summer, but the French international is still expected to quit Ligue 1 before the start of the 2012-13 campaign.
Inter Milan have also been credited with an interest in signing the Rennes star, but, like Arsenal, seem to have taken a step back from negotiations.
