Alex Song has reportedly irritated Arsenal after failing to ignore approaches from Barcelona and other clubs interested in his signature.

The Cameroon international enjoyed his best season for the Gunners last term and it comes as no great surprise that Song is now being pursued by some of Europe's most prominent clubs.

Arsenal have the expectation that Song will dismiss any approach from another club, but the 24-year-old has reportedly riled Arsene Wenger by listening to what is on offer.

According to The Guardian, Wenger feels he deserves a display of loyalty from the midfielder he signed as a teenager, and is now questioning Song's worth to the team.

The Arsenal manager has even gone so far as to consider selling Song should a significant offer come in, although the Gunners have yet to receive any official bids for his services.

Wenger's interest in Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin is said to have been tempered by uncertainty surrounding Song, and Arsenal are close to signing the Turkey international on loan.

Meanwhile, the Gunners confirmed on Tuesday that they had signed Santi Cazorla from Malaga, with the Spain midfielder joining for an undisclosed fee.
