Euro stars: The best players outside the Premier League

The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, but a large number of the world's best players play don't ply their trade in England's top division.

Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 all boast some of football's top stars, the likes of Lionel Messi, Wesley Sneijder and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

And in recent years, a reasonable case can be argued to that La Liga is actually the world's best league. While English teams dominated the Champions League during the late 2000s, Real Madrid and Barcelona have now established themselves as the benchmarks of European football.

Meanwhile, the Bundesliga has always been tremendously competitive, and Ligue 1 - accelerated by the wealth of PSG - is catching up fast.
