Manchester City's new campaign got off to the perfect start, after coming from behind to claim a 3-1 victory against Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday.

Goals from Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez and Samir Nasri sealed a thrilling win for the Citizens, with Roberto Mancini describing Tevez as like a new signing for the club.

Having completed a deal to bring Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell to the Etihad over the weekend, Mancini will now step up his efforts to sign Daniel Agger from Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers is aware that he still needs to win over the fans on Merseyside, and prove he's good enough for the job at Anfield, after Sunday's friendly win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Arsene Wenger maintains he wants to keep Robin van Persie at Arsenal, insisting there is no update on the want-away skipper's future.

Victor Moses will sign for Chelsea as soon as Wigan agree a deal with Arsenal for the season-long loan signing of Ryo Miyaichi.

And finally, Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley says he's feeling '100 per cent' after playing for Team GB at the Olympics, and can't wait to kick-start the new season.
