Athletic Bilbao star Javi Martinez completed his move to Bayern Munich yesterday - for a Bundesliga record fee of £35m.

The transfer was one of the more complicated in football history - Martinez ended up paying the fee himself after his contract was terminated by his La Liga employers - but in terms of total transfer fee, it ranks some way down the record books.

Of course, La Liga boasts the highest fee, courtesy of Cristiano Ronaldo's £80m move to Real Madrid in 2009, but how do the prices paid vary across Europe's top leagues?
