Roberto Mancini has offered Real Madrid some advice on how they should deal with Cristiano Ronaldo's mardy behaviour, with the Manchester City boss suggesting Los Blancos should send the Portuguese into exile.

Ronaldo has revealed in recent weeks that he is unhappy with life at the Santiago Bernabeu, and his dip in emotions has resulted in a dip in form for Real.

Jose Mourinho's side are already eight points off the pace in La Liga as Barcelona look to reclaim the title from Los Merengues, and things in Madrid are not as rosy was they once were.

Mancini, meanwhile, is used to dealing with players whose bad attitudes serve as detrimental to the team, with the Italian banishing Carlos Tevez last season after a public fallout.

Th Argentine, however, returned after five months in the wilderness to play a key role in securing the Premier League title for City, and Mancini has encouraged Madrid to follow a similar course with Ronaldo.

"If he wants to win La Liga again, maybe he should send Cristiano to Portugal for six months and maybe he can win it for a second time," Mancini joked at a press conference.

City are in Madrid to face Real in their first match of the 2012-13 Champions League season and, given the home side's recent failings, have a great chance of returning to Manchester with three points.
