Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is unlikely to make wholesale changes after the 2-1 weekend defeat to Chelsea, with Vito Mannone expected to keep his position between the sticks for the visit of Olympiacos.

The Gunners do have a central defensive decision to make however, with Per Mertesacker, Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny vying for two spots at centre back. Bacary Sagna is back in training but unlikely to return just yet.

Abou Diaby joins the Arsenal injury list after limping off against the Blues at the weekend, although Mikel Arteta is expected to recover in time to face the Greek giants. Jack Wilshere is getting closer to a senior return, but won’t be ready in time for Wednesday night.

Olivier Giroud will be hoping for a start after his substitute appearance at the weekend, but Gervinho’s goal makes him the likely contender to start up-front, with Theo Walcott expected to come back into the side on the right wing.

German youth international Serge Gnabry is in the Arsenal squad, but is unlikely to make his European debut at this stage.

Arsenal predicted line-up to face Olympiacos:

Vito Mannone; Carl Jenkinson, Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny, Kieran Gibbs; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla; Theo Walcott, Gervinho, Lukas Podolski.
