Scott Sinclair is aware that 'intense' competition for places at Manchester City will limit his game time with Roberto Mancini's side this season.

Sky Sports reports how the 23-year-old winger signed a four-year deal at the Etihad Stadium, after swapping Swansea for pastures new with the reigning Premier League champions.

Sinclair joined the Citizens with a view to challenging for top honours, and insists that he has no regrets about his decision to opt for a prospective fringe role over regular first-team football with the Swans.

Either way, he's prepared to be patient in his pursuit of a regular starting role, and has taken confidence from the progress he's making at this point.

"I don't know how often I'll play because competition for places is intense," said Sinclair. "I made my debut against Stoke and then played against Arsenal and Aston Villa.

"All I can do now is concentrate on the next game and give 100 per cent. I'm just looking forward to playing in any games. All I can do is try to make an impact when the opportunity arises."

The opportunity to work closely, and train alongside a number of the world's leading players is also something that Sinclair will not take for granted, and hopes it will give him chance to further improve his own game.

He added: "I'll aim to improve off all the world-class players here. Everyone will be rotated, so it's down to the manager's choice.

"I'll just work hard and try and get the nod again."
