Tottenham are preparing an offer in attempt to land Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

Sanchez has had an inconsistent start to life at the Nou Camp since making the move from Udinese in 2011.

Currently in his second full season with the Spanish giants, the Chilean international is yet to find a consistent level of performance and his future at the club has been called into question.

That could potentially open to the door for Tottenham according to Fichajes.net, who report that the north London club have been in contact with Sanchez’s agent over a potential switch.

Spurs have been linked with a host of wingers ahead of the January window, and Sanchez may be viewed as an alternative if manager Andre Villas-Boas fails in his attempts to lure Shakhtar Donetsk’s Willian to White Hart Lane.

With Chelsea also interested in the Brazilian Spurs may find it difficult to land their man.

According to the site, Barcelona are willing to let Sanchez leave for the right price, having paid around £23 million for him little more than a year ago.

According to Fichajes.net, both parties are keen to push the deal through ahead of next season. Liverpool have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old in the past.

Sanchez got on the scoresheet for Barcelona last night as they recorded a routine win in the Copa del Rey against Alaves.
