Tottenham have been put on red alert amid reports from Germany that Bayern Munich are willing to let Rafinha leave the club on loan in January, reports talkSPORT.

The 27-year-old has been a peripheral figure at the Allianz Arena since his move from Genoa in the summer of 2011, making only a nine-minute cameo in the Bundesliga this season, and failing to feature in the Champions League.

As a result, Jupp Heynckes is open to letting the Brazilian full-back find regular football elsewhere - a development that has captured the attention of Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas.

However, a temporary switch to White Hart Lane is far from certain, with additional interest in Rafinha from Italy, with Serie A giants AC Milan and Roma poised to swoop, should he become available for transfer in January.

Widely regarded as a skilled defender with good passing skills, quick pace, agility and a strong shot, 'Little Rafa' as his name is translated in English, would provide competition for Kyle Walker at right-back.

Rafinha's ability to play in a more advanced position, would also strengthen Villas-Boas' options further forward, as back-up to the in-form Aaron Lennon.
