Defeat for Chelsea against Juventus tonight will put Roberto Di Matteo's side on the brink of becoming the first Champions League holders not to qualify for the knockout stages.

The Blues currently sit joint-top of Group E, behind Shakhtar Donetsk on goal difference, but with the Serie A giants just one point behind, the pool remains wide open in the race to finish in the top two.

Chelsea travel to Turin hoping to put their domestic woes aside, and secure all three points on Tuesday evening, following Saturday's surprise defeat against West Brom in the Premier League.

A 2-2 draw was the result in the reverse fixture, after Juventus struck twice to come back from two goals down at Stamford Bridge, and with even more riding on tonight's encounter, the reigning European champions will need to be more resolute in defence.

Di Matteo has confirmed he will drop Fernando Torres, choosing instead to play Eden Hazard in the central striker role. Ashley Cole is also set to make his comeback, but John Terry (knee) and Frank Lampard (calf) remain sidelined through injury.

Chelsea predicted starting XI:

Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Cole; Azpilicueta, Mikel, Ramires, Oscar Mata, Hazard.
