Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins was delighted after his side were finally crowned League One champions as Leeds´ appeal against their 15-point deduction was rejected.
The Swans celebrated winning the title after their home game against Yeovil on April 19, but the Football League refused to present them with the trophy ahead of last weekend´s home clash with Leyton Orient in case United´s appeal was successful.
But an arbitration panel announced on Thursday they had rejected the appeal, meaning the Swans are confirmed as the champions and Jenkins told Sky Sports News: "It´s what was expected and I´m pleased with that. No disrespect to Leeds or their supporters, but I think the credibility of the Football League was at stake."
