Steve McManaman has confirmed he will not be standing for election to the Birmingham board on Wednesday night.
The club´s leading shareholder Carson Yeung was set to recommend the former Liverpool and England winger for a boardroom position, alongside Fan Zhiyi, in a bid to represent his 29.9% stake in Blues.
But although there is still scheduled to be an extraordinary general meeting after Wednesday night´s annual general meeting, Yeung is no longer expected to attend and McManaman told the Daily Mirror: "I am not standing any more and don´t want to be nominated. It was all a bit of a mistake."
