Arsenal moved back to the top of the Barclays Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win over Newcastle at Emirates Stadium.
In-form striker Emmanuel Adebayor put the hosts in front with a bullet header just before the break, with a 25-yard strike from Mathieu Flamini and another from Cesc Fabregas making sure of the three points to leapfrog Manchester United.
Newcastle - beaten here by the same scoreline in the FA Cup on Saturday - battled bravely for large spells of the match, but again lacked a cutting edge in attack.
