Edwin van der Sar has signed a new one-year contract extension to keep him at Manchester United until 2009.
The veteran Dutchman´s present deal expires in the summer and he predicted talks would not open over another one until December.
There had been some reports of interest from Barcelona for the former Juventus and Ajax star, and also a suggestion he could be handed a role on the Old Trafford backroom staff as goalkeeping coach Tony Coton is currently sidelined following a recent knee operation.
