Wales boss John Toshack made a special trip to Luton on Wednesday night to assess the potential of young midfielder David Edwards.

The 21 year-old has already captained Wales at Under-21s level and was unfortunate when injury ruled him out of a late call-up for the recent seniors´ double header against Cyprus and San Marino.

But Toshack wanted to see how the youngster coped against Premier League opposition, and took in Luton´s Carling Cup clash with Everton, a game that was only decided in extra-time when Tim Cahill sent the Merseysiders into the quarter-finals.
