Carlton Cole stroked home an injury-time winner to send West Ham into the Carling Cup quarter-finals following their 2-1 victory at the expense of Coventry.

Conquerors of Manchester United in the previous round, the Sky Blues thought they were about to add another Barclays Premier League scalp to their list when Jay Tabb nodded them into a second-half lead.

But, after Luis Boa Morte´s deflected effort had pulled the Hammers level within four minutes, Cole kept his nerve to send them through after shrugging off the attentions of Arjen de Zeeuw.
